New Philips cClear projectors offer best-in-class brightness and wireless connectivity

August 28, 2003

Amsterdam, Aug 28, 2003 - Philips is introducing a range of high-performance multimedia projectors which offer business users a combination of outstanding brightness, future-proof design and extensive connectivity - including 802.11b (WiFi) wireless LAN connection.

The new cClear range will offer large/medium-sized companies and higher education institutions alike a choice of projectors featuring an unbeatable price/performance ratio and a vast array of features, all representing an excellent investment.

Comprising three models - the cClear Air Brilliance (wireless with XGA resolution), cClear Brilliance XG1 (XGA resolution) and cClear SV1 (ultra-bright SVGA resolution) - the series boasts a brightness of 2600 ANSI lumens, the brightest illumination levels in this class of projector. And with the ability to display two presentations simultaneously, cClear brings a new level of sophistication to the business segment.

State-of-the-art brightness
Available in metallic blue and silver colors, the cClear series outperforms the competition in brightness while keeping cooling-fan noise levels down. Philips projectors are renowned for their picture performance and this series is no exception - the projectors are unsurpassed in terms of brightness, sharpness, contrast, color reproduction and reliability. In fact, no ambient light adjustments are necessary even in normal daylight conditions. What’s more, by using Philips’ powerful, efficient and durable 200 W UHP™ lamps, this high performance is maintained throughout the lamp’s long lifetime.

Fast and easy wireless connectivity
Wireless is the future in projection. Convenient, cable-free operation simplifies the mobile executive’s life, saving time by allowing multiple users to share, connect and present without interruption. It also gives any company the look of a leading-edge organization. The cClear Air Brilliance offers best-in-class wireless connectivity for any computer using any standard 802.11b wireless network card, in terms of speed, overall performance and convenience.

cClear’s exceptionally high wireless transmission speed allows presenters freedom of movement, even with the most complex notebook presentations — without compromising performance. One feature that contributes to this is cClear’s way of compression; it is calculating the changes in the projected image. Therefore, only these changes need to be transmitted instead of the complete screen image. Consequently, the cClear Air Brilliance has the fastest transmission speed in the business in either of its two wireless modes: Best Quality (where picture quality equals that of its wired siblings) or High Speed (for ‘real time’ professional presentations).

The intuitive wireless setup and user interface of Philips cClear projectors couldn’t be easier. As soon as the projector is switched on, its IP address appears, which can then be typed into a PC’s web browser, like a URL, to launch a download link. Clicking this transmits, downloads, installs and auto synchronizes the computer with the projector. And that is it - no CDROM and no specific software knowledge required.

Interactive Double Window
This feature allows the display of two separate input signals (e.g. from two comp warning stickers are provided as an extra deterrent.

Smart investment/Maximum value
cClear’s forward-thinking technology is unique amongst today’s high-quality projector families in that it offers advanced compatibility, connectivity and more features. Whatever the image source — from desktop to the latest notebook or DVD — cClear offers exceptional value for money.

By combining leading-edge performance (picture quality/brightness/color homogeneity), extensive connectivity (WLAN, DVI, USB, RS232, 2nd data input, audio, progressive and component video for all global standards, etc.) and features such as Selectable (fast) Cooldown, Smart Dimmer and 2D keystone correction, nothing can touch it as the high-end projector series of choice. Add to this Philips’ standard quality features such as ColorTracking™, SmartSet™, HDTVready™, SmartSave™, YourLogo™; a reputation for high reliability/durability, high sound quality with low-noise ventilation; and excellent warranty and support, and cClear is clearly a class apart — a uniquely affordable projector series for all future business and higher education needs.
