Amsterdam, Sep 29, 2003 - Philips has teamed up with big name global DJs Carl Cox, Mauro Picotto, Cut Killer, Sander Kleinenberg and Chris Liebing to help provide music as part of the launch activity for the Philips 530, the world’s first mobile phone to offer a complete music experience.
The five artists, who are helping Philips provide musical content for the Philips 530’s unique “BeDJ” music and re-mix features, will be the headline acts at a series of Philips-organized dance events in Europe this autumn. Launching in September on the island of Ibiza, Philips BeDJ events will then be staged in France, Spain, the Netherlands, Italy, Poland and the Czech Republic from October onwards.
Every month two tracks, produced in association each of the DJs will be available for purchase and download for the 530 from www.philips.com/530.
The Philips 530’s BeDJ function is truly unique: endorsed by the five DJs, the feature allows consumers to re-mix their own music tracks, turning this easy-to-use phone into a portable mixing desk. Tunes can be stored as ringtones or alarms, and can be sent to other users via MMS.
