Nike + Philips

Three products in the Nike+Philips range have been named 2005 Innovation award winners (PSA260 MP3RUN, PSA235 and PSA003). Continuing on the highly successful first portable sport audio range Nike-Philips introduced in 2002, the partnership has created the first skip-free Wearable Sport Audio player to combine music with wireless speed and distance sensing. Designed with athlete insights and advanced technology innovations, the MP3RUN helps fitness consumers reach their personal best through the motivation of music and the monitoring of speed and distance over time. Providing 125 songs of skip-free music, the wearable MP3 is easy to use. It tracks your pace and distance via speed sensor and lets you hear your data on-demand with the simple push of a button. This advanced technology is capable of storing workouts in its memory and will upload them to the PC or a training website, allowing runners to easily access data from previous workouts and ensure that they are meeting their fitness goals.

The combination of an MP3 audio player and a stopwatch with on-demand voice feedback make the Nike + Philips PSA235 a powerful tool for athletes. The device enables runners to enjoy hours of 100 percent skip-free MP3/WMA music or FM radio, while providing on-demand voice feedback on the duration of the workout.

The PSA003 is a waist belt remote control that enables runners to control their Nike + Philips sport audio products from a centralized location. The PSA003 is designed to hold and carry Nike + Philips Portable Sport Audio players in the middle of the user’s back, an ideal position that enables players to remain balanced during a workout.

Compatible with the Nike + Philips Portable Sport Audio line, the PSA003 features “play-pause,” “skip-forward,” “skip-backward,” “volume-up” and “volume-down” functions and a user-friendly interface. Remote control operations are front and center on the user’s body for easy access and use.
